Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is a national public health insurance fund of the Government of India that intends to offer low-income earners free access to health insurance coverage. About this, people who are earning low are eligible for this programme. Programme participants from their family physicians obtain individual primary care services. It also offers free secondary health care for individuals who require specialised care and tertiary health care for those who need to be hospitalised.

The world's most extensive government-sponsored healthcare programme serves 50 crores (500 million) individuals. By order of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, it was introduced in September 2018. That ministry eventually created the National Health Authority to oversee the programme. The union government and the states contribute financially to a centrally sponsored programme.
