This story would've worked perfectly in the original.

Owning up to the mistakes they've made. And also, beerus and whis were angry for bulma messing with time and then eventually just left it alone until beerus blew up the time machine.
Would've made more sense if it was Gohan having a common motivation as beerus and them potentially setting up a story together regarding all the mess time travel made
