Let me get this straight, a 7 yr old girl was staying outside of the home in a converted shed outside the home?? And then this monster accidentally hit her in a non serious manner, but then decided to take her life to cover it up??? This whole thing is bizarre and tragic

This doesn’t even make sense.. he says she wasn’t seriously injured but still proceeds to force her into the van where he kills her. He’s a sick sick man.. hope he never sees the light of day but my heart breaks that it cost this little girl her life..

If you're scared and confused you run down the street screaming you don't pick up a child that you just hit and put her in the van and strangle her this is so horrific so sorry for that family's loss

You hit someone, you don’t put them in your car! You don’t try to finish them off by strangling them! You call 911! This guy meant to do what he did.

He's not telling the truth. I don't believe he took Athena because he hit her with his truck. If that were the case why not knock on the door and inform a parent? He took her
for other reasons.
RIP Angel

Anyone in their right mind would have taken Athena to a hospital immediately. But this killer didn't do that, instead he strangled her and then dumped her body. That's insanity.

My God, this is why you cannot let your child out of your sight at all.

The FedEx driver was delivering her Christmas present that took her very life, what a twisted senseless tragedy.

This tops the list for the most senseless murder I've ever heard of. Something is seriously wrong with a huge chunk of society.

This is so tragic. Can you imagine? You can't even let your child play in the yard without fearing "stranger danger." Tears for the family and this tragic little girl.

I can't imagine having my child cremated, but then again, I can't imagine putting my 7 yr old outside in a damn shed either

He should have taken her to a ER and explained what happened he would have been in a lot less trouble if that's really the truth

There's no way the step mom could know where the child was or what she was doing if she was in a shed that wasn't even attached to the house! Trying to reserve judgment but this just doesn't sit well!! If you are renovating the house then everyone should be staying in the shed! A seven year old child should be under supervision! This whole story is just sad and frustrating because it could have been prevented!!

Why in the world is a 7year old staying in a converted shed next to the home? That's messed up.

Why were children staying in a shed like animals?

This is just so twisted and sad 😢 the parents need to understand where they went wrong as well. Why is the step daughters sleeping in a shed ? And why is the step mother arguing with a 7 year old like she is a teenager. And letting her walk outside all alone and defense and not knowing better. That insane. Rip Athena.

I don't believe he hit her I think he abducted her that sounds like a better defense for him .
