Adderall is classified as an amphetamine that is highly addictive. It is a drug that can be prescribed to those who have ADHD; however, it is highly abused by university and college students. It is called the "study drug" for those who abuse it because it increases concentration and creates intense invigoration and euphoria. This video looks at Adderall and how it works both in the body and in the brain.

It is also important to emphasize the mental health aspect of this video. Studies have shown that students try Adderall due to stress. We want to help students to understand the dangers of Adderall. We can help them manage their stress so that they would not depend on Adderall or to help fight their addiction by outlining some resources available to them.

So yes, it is missing a methyl group but this loss of a methyl group is a huge difference. That added methyl group doesnt allow increased access to blood brain barrier(actually the amine group does). That added methyl group allows for higher affinity to dopamine receptor binding which means that its binds to dopamine receptors faster and to alot more(like 1000x) more. It would be like if you took a remote control car and attached 5 18v car batteries to it. Additionally, adderall is a combination of 2 salts that break down into the structure you are seeing. Most chemicals taken orally are broken down by the acidic environment of the stomach. So meth is already in that state when it is inhaled(you dont chew meth) which increases euphoric response by 200x which is the actual cause of addiction development. You dont get addicted to the chemical, you get addicted to the euphoria that actually rewrites pathways in the brain. This methyl group makes a huge difference, look at carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. The first one occurs naturally in our body and we use it as a mechanism to breathe(hypoxic drive). The second one binds to hemoglobin more and doesnt allow oxygen to bind thus internally strangling our cells. And the only difference is 1 single carbon. You want a whole methyl group?(1 carbon, 3 hydrogens) that changes a hell of a lot more. Dont take chemistry and biochem advice from someone who doesnt understand how it works. Oh another fun fact? Ibuprofen exists in 2 forms, same chemical structure but different orientation(as in the hydrogens are pointed in different directions). 1 form helps with swelling and pain and the other form is lethally toxic to humans. Same structure, same composition, but different orientation of a few atoms. So yeah, that methyl group makes a huge difference. Dont fear monger.

Where this video states that using it to perform better in learning is inaccurate. it DOES helpi in studying. Otherwise many students wouldn't use it.

Im not bragging and I don't think this is cool at all but I abuse this and take three of these at a time and I don't think it has the same effects as meth
