Last Day of Lockdown - Lockdown Ending April 2021 - Oxford Street 4K London Walk - Those Who Wander
Показать описание
Join me on a walk along London's famous Oxford Street for the UK's last day of lockdown, Sunday 11 April 2021. This London walk was recorded just one day before lockdown ended on 12 April - the date when retail shops are due to reopen. This may be your last chance (hopefully?!) of seeing the most famous shopping street of London so empty and quiet. However, there are still plenty of people walking the streets, and a large number of cyclists out too!
Start at Oxford Circus, and continue along Oxford Street to Tottenham Court Road station. Along the way, check out some of the outlets of the famous retail brands - all closed at the time of the recording. There are also beautiful buildings and architecture dating back to 18th century. Do you know that the development of Oxford Street began in the 18th century after many surrounding fields were purchased by the Earl of Oxford? At the end of the walk, check out the pieces of street art -and share the time stamp for one of the pieces for a shout out from me in the comments!
The walk ends at Tottenham Court Road tube station, at the intersection of Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road, which leads to King's Cross St. Pancras.
I hope you enjoy the walk!
