There are a small but significant number of hereditary and genetic dementias. They are rare in comparison to the dementia that we usually see which is Alzheimer's Disease. There will be risk factors in the genes that are probably present in many of us but I still
emphasise the importance of lifestyle, because that's something we have control over.
