I have 11 tents from a 1 man to a 12x12 canvas that i use for my hunting camp. This is the weekend where everyone of them gets set up in my backyard to make sure they're clean for the season, and i have all the gear in the right bags. Nothing like fall camping, happy trails everyone.

I like to take a sorta heavy backpacking tent like the trailmade 2 and replace the stakes with ultralight stakes

I really like Dan and have lots of time for him. I also understand that this has its uses for some but it's also really basic. It might have been good to have a comparison with a trekking pole tent like a Duplex or Durston as they're generally more difficult to set up correctly. All the same, thank uou for the content. Was getting ready to jump in and add dead trees/branches when you got there. This is serious stuff for sure. We call them widowmakers for a reason. Even a relatively small branch can still weigh quite a lot, and is going to have MANY sharp pointy bits. A 50 lb branch is fairly small as these things go, but 50 lbs falling on you with many sharp points from a height of even just 10 feet has a very high likelihood of killing you. And if it's a dead or even mostly dead tree, don't camp anywhere near it because you have no idea which direction it would fall. However tall it is, double that for safety and pitch at least that far away.

You could use a 1/2” PVC pipe T fitting to push in those stakes instead of your shoe.

Here's a Tip that most people dont no. When staking out a tent start at one corner and then go to the cross corner pull the tent tight then go to the nearest corner and pull it tight then finish with the last corn stretching it tight. This eliminates wrinkles most people just start at one corner then then next one going around the tent like a clock

Viewers should be aware that some bugs are attracted to stagnant water, but other bugs are attracted to flowing water, so the fact that water is flowing does not mean there will be fewer bugs. The infamous black flies of New England only breed in flowing water. Black fly bites are far worse than mosquito bites, and can persist for several months with very painful lesions and intense itching.
