Omg. Im 43yo and have had multiple master crocheters as teachers over the years and I just could not figure it out. i ordered a huge beginners crochet kit with my xmas gift card and am 1000% determined to figure out how to crochet this year because my daughter wants to learn and I want to do it with her. I got my kit and just wanted to check it out so i picked a few videos and was trying to follow them. I got to this on and picked it up in seconds and can easily get everything you are doing.
