Just as a side note, another great way to save money is a motto of "use it till it breaks" especially with electronics. A phone can last 5+ years without a major upgrade but people tend to buy every year cause it's just kind of expected. Hold off on that new TV, or that ridiculously overpriced graphics card and you'll really see your savings rack up. Smaller frivolous purchases are a killer for long term savings. As for my dream car? I think it'd have to be the Lotus Evora/Emira, I joke with my friends about the lotus fund but it is very real LOL.

Bought my dream car 3 years ago. Took me 8 years of checking every single day to find the perfect one for me. I’m glad I waited for the right one though; take your time with it. Good luck to everyone out there saving up for your dream car, you got this.

A tip I learned through experience: go to car shows and become friends with the people that are in the community of a cars you want to buy. That way if one of them is selling or someone they know is, you’re the first person they’ll call.

Tip for buying your dream car: Be Realistic for your salary.

For example, Im in high school and make $19, 500 a year. My current dream car is an Acrura Integra GSR if you make 200, 000 a year push for something nicer. Do what you can comfortably

Last week, I passed my driver's license test first try. Almost immediately after leaving the DMV afterwards, there was an Evo X driving nearby, my #1 dream car. It was a sign! One day...one day

The tip of "being realistic" is something I learned when I was in college. When I was younger (13), the dream car was a 1992-1999 Nissan GT-R. Then the car got hyped as I was growing up, now the prices to buy and maintain them are ridiculous. So at the age of 21, dream car then became an Evo, then those got really expensive. The funny thing is I bought my first 90's Honda civic around that time, and the car really grew on me. Now the dream car is An RSX type-S (trying to get a decent one before those get stupid expensive too). I just find it funny that the older I got, the less I wanted the more "hyped-up" cars. I guess I'd realized that I just wanted something that I could have fun with, that's reliable and wouldn't cost me an arm/leg to fix if something breaks.

I guess you can classify me as someone who just recently attained their dream car, a 2022 GR Supra 3.0 Premium. I'm 37 years old, been working since I was 15 1/2. This video is great, especially about the part of not settling. Big emphasis on that, because I did that too many times and "settled" for lesser cars just to get by, but was never truly satisfied. So after years of hard work, and seeing the 2020 Supra revealed (back in 2019) I was fixated and determined that would be my next car. I actually could afford maybe up to a $120K car but really gravitated to the Supra no matter what other cars I looked at. So 3 weeks ago I found this Supra, and bought it cash. I still pinch myself looking at it in the garage and can't believe I actually own one. (And don't worry you arm chair internet financial analysts don't need to sh*t on me for buying cash and investing since I have tons of investments already.) Anyway this ended up being way too long of a post, but anybody reading please keep working smarter and don't stray too far from your dream, as it can be a reality as long as you put in the work.

Just bought a mk5 Supra last month I been saving up ever since the mk5 dropped and bought it out straight cash. Took around 2 years of saving up and not going out to eat and not buying fancy stuff. Definitely worth it I have my dream car now. It’s all comes down to determination. I hope everyone gets their dream car if you are reading this!! 👍🏼👍🏼

I'm sitting here reading these comments and am so thankful I attained my dream car 25 years ago a 97 NSX. Its sitting in my garage. Yes I'm old and retired. All I can add to this is work hard there is no short cuts. Also remember to take care of your other needs like family and your ultimate reality that you will have to retire someday. Remember your dream car is your hobby not your life. Life is a balancing act.

•Definitely look at cars that are dated 5-7 years old in order to take advantage of depreciation especially for luxury cars.

•Payment isn’t all that matters for car loans, anything beyond a 4 year car loan greatly increases the amount of interest you’ll pay on the loan overall.

•Buy/sell private party if possible.

•In regards to a car in the meantime, purchase a beater that is nearly at the end of its lifecycle for a few thousand while saving up for your dream car. You can save on insurance if you buy the car outright by carrying only liability. It’s also unlikely that it will depreciate much beyond its initial purchase price if it’s old enough.

So many people saved up for their dream cars only to have the pandemic happen and the sports car market inflated to the point they need almost double what they thought. Then it begs the question, should you just have pulled the trigger and dealt with the high payment, or delayed a build just to secure the car? Should you do that now? That would be a more interesting video.

I'm 29 and I'm now content with the cars I have and have had. But the beginning was rough.
Borrow cars through high school and had a used rental 4cyl avenger through college. Since then I've had a 2014 mustang, 2017 tacoma lifted with 33s and now a 2021 wrx. The having the chepa car up front made this possible

I’m glad y’all dropped this video because I actually watched videos like this to help me save. I watch a lot of budgeting and financial videos as guides. I’m currently saving for a C7 Z06 and Ive been putting half sometimes way more than half my check every week to the side. Then I put a smaller amount to the side just incase anything happens to my current car. And the rest I use for bills and essentials to last me till my next check. I started this process in late January, my goal is 20K for a down payment and I’m at 12K. My current car is pretty fun so you’re definitely right about not going crazy while saving for something fun to drive

I definitely agree with getting a fun affordable car until you can get your dream car. My dream car is a 1970 Dodge Charger, if you couldn't tell by my profile pic, but as a graduate student I can't afford $50k for one, but you know what I can afford, a 1966 AMC Marlin that I just picked up on February! It is a very cool car that I got for a little under $4k and it has taught me a lot about working on older cars! And I bought it in running and driving condition btw 😁

It is a great way for me to have fun with a classic car until I can actually afford the one I want!

I had 2 dream cars while I was a poor college student struggling to make ends meet: s2k and e46m3. 20 years later I own both cars sitting in my garage and a Lexus ls430 and rx350. Got one for every occasion. Finally I’m done …for now 👍🏻

I wanted an S15 Silvia since I was in year 7, the first year of highschool down here in Aus. Around 8 years later I have one in my driveway, best looking car ever imo.

I recently acquired one of my dream cars, a 1984 C4 Corvette, at 25. I got lucky and got it for cheap. Just about everything works and it’s a little rough around the edges. For those whose dream car is older, wait for an opportunity while keeping your eyes peeled. I found the corvette with a for sale sign and a phone number on it. Now I’m considering selling my prerunner truck to get a clean C3 Corvette

My attainable dream car is the Lexus ISF, specifically 2012-14 models. Funny enough it became my dream car after buying my 1st car, an 08 IS250 which I'm still driving today
