Could you, please, comment if NLV visa requirements (on withdrawals from U.S. 401K plan as source of income) mean that 2500 euros is what needs to be put into Spanish bank, and will be taxed at ~37%? Or is it what have to be left after the taxes, i.e. – have to withdraw noticeably more to have 2500 left after all Spanish taxes? Trying to calculate how much will need to send from the U.S. account to a Spanish bank.

Spain is not a good place to retire because of the taxes.
The only way to retire in Spain is to have 5 years of spending saved up in a bank account and receive no income, so you can avoid Spanish taxes.
