You forgot to mention x ≠ 0 at first, if not, you cannot divide both sides by 0. You also forgot to mention x > 0 when squaring both sides.

We can also simplify the x*sqrt(1/x) from the start (assuming x does not equal 0): Once we have x(x+1)=2sqrt[x(x+1)], the x(x+1) occurs on both sides, so the whole equation becomes y=2sqrt(y) after substitution
