In 2019, we came up with an idea to bring circularity and sustainability into the skincare industry. Starting with the idea to develop a zero-waste skincare,we decided to upcycle coffee grounds, the drink the world is addicted to, into a functional ingredient that not only treats your skin but also reduces Greenhouse gas emission. Methane- a dangerous gas produced when coffee grounds and other waste is dumped in the landfills.

Imagine having all these coffee grounds full of rich minerals, vitamins, and physical particles, very functional to exfoliate your skin, ending up in the trash.

We at Honestly it’s, partnered with the certified supplier of the coffee grounds and developed our first upcycled product, “My Addiction” Foaming Scrub Powder. A product mainly based on coffee grounds collected from the cafés and offices.

In addition, our product is water-free. On average 60-80% of water is used to produce any skincare product. By removing water from our formulation we were able to reduce our transport-related Carbon footprint and fill in our products in compostable paper sachets that degrade within 6 months after they are thrown away. Next to that, we have a tin for home use which can be refilled with the product packed in a compostable pouch.

This is how our Foaming Scrub Powder works.

You jump into the shower, get wet and gently apply the product to your skin. The 3 in 1 formula works as a scrub, body wash, and moisturizer. It saves water, time spent in the shower, and the use of other body products.

We at Honestly it’s care about all the aspects of sustainability in our products. From our compostable packaging to upcycled ingredients and practicality of our product that leads to lesser use of other resources and time. We aim to be the front runner of sustainable skincare; use less, upcycle more, and care about the environment.

There are more useful and functional ingredients for skincare that are wasted annually. But we at Honestly it’s, have big plans for them and need your support to make a difference, to save our Environment by providing high quality, zero-waste skincare.
