I have to be such a frugal person because I am on disability SSI and I can not work on it as well. I have to do side jobs that are cash to support myself and my son. I literally have $1.69 in my checking account until the 3rd Wed of the month. One thing I do suggest is the envelope system an pay cash for anything that I can. Any change that I get goes straight into our savings jar and we never touch it. I know its not what most people save, but it adds up if we have an emergency.

I'm passionate about frugal living too...we just bought our DREAM HOUSE in Europe, and frugal living helped us do it. :) We also make a commitment to never paying full price - I negotiate, EVERYTHING! Good tip. 😍

So true about thinking about your purchases as investments. I paid to get my hair colored and cut today but invested in the shampoo. This allows my haircolor to stay longer and I get the color done 2 times a year.

I started using a credit card again for the rewards. I use you need a budget and make sure I budget all my credit card expenses. I also pay my credit card off weekly. This allows me to not get a big scary balance and I have the money to pay of it.

My biggest tip is to look at everything you spend money on. Are rates cheaper look at saving money with your mortgage? Shop car insurance, cell phone, cable, internet, and anything you pay monthly.
