I think with the good run over the last 10 years people have got complacent with risk. It's the "missing out factor". I hold my hand up and say I'm involved. Started off on LS60 but after year 1 looked at returns for LS100 and thought "I missed out". So for the last 2 years all my money went into LS100. At the time it just looked like money for old rope, just too easy.
Luckily I don't need the money for a long time so not overly worried. The original investor in me still has my emergency fund.
On a slight positive note I transferred my old work pension to Vanguard SIPP and it sat in cash while the market fell so missed about ⅓ of the fall. Silver lining's and all.
