I remember having to do that in 2011 and 2012.

One thing to remember when your car gets submerged in water is it can be easy to get disoriented in a panic. Try to keep one hand on the steering wheel so when the water floods in and panic sets in you’ll have a guide to the window. Especially if the car flips or rolls it’ll let you know which side is up, left, right, etc.
