Mini Clover Craft Iron - Great fun and useful for other crafts too.

Any simple iron will do but here is a travel iron which is much smaller.

Hair Straighteners - Any will do but here are some examples.

Hey felters and crafters,

I am constantly trying to improve and love all things wool related (who doesn’t, we are all addicted!). My new motto – never stop felting (or crafting or creating or building our small businesses!) xx

So happy to see you checking out the clover mini iron, I was interested in using it on wax or paverpol hooves and beaks and such, I use a regular iron frequently, for bird feathers, and scales, parchment paper is what I use between the fiber and iron, dont want to mess up my iron lol, but I think there's like a Teflon, or something like that, sheet that lots of people use as well, so many cool tricks to use for different looks, thanks for sharing 😊

Thank you so much for this very helpful video. 3 days ago my Clover mini iron arrived which I am intending to use for a completely different project (using japanese speciality adhesive paper to fix the edges of a very old newspaper) and now I have another use for it. This is so great! Who knew ironing could be such fun!

I have a heating tool like that clover iron you used. I just pulled it out to try this and I’m so excited to see your results!!! You always seem to be connected to what is so useful for us needle felters. I’m glad I found your channel, its just AWESOME! Thank you ☺️

I’m pleased you trialed the Clover iron…I was told by someone that they were dangerous but I bought one and absolutely love it! Obviously they misused it because like you I find it extremely effective. Love your videos, really helpful

This is cool! I'm doing a Kraken right now, and it needs to be smooth, so this trick seems to be exactly what I need!

Thank you for the review. I have the mini iron but have not used it yet. I will now. Have a good day and stay safe.💜

I use the clover mini iron to make felt flowers. It's good but extremely easy to burn yourself quite badly, like I did. X

Thanks, Pippa ive been looking at the mini iron for a while.
I really must remember to use straighteners more often, amazing to see the difference before and after on your horse ears! x

I have had the craft iron for year but never thought to use it, I have used the hair straightener.

Fantastic video!

I also use the iron for round items, but I'll have it stand and then very carefully roll the round item against the soleplate. I may use a needle to hold the piece, if it's too small, so my fingers are not close to the iron.
Not to be done in a rush but might be useful for a piece that has stubborn fibers sticking out.

I was curious about the mini iron (I love the classic iron for Mum's Makery template with parchment paper so I don't leave marks on the wool) and I found your video super interesting, I think I'll get a lint remover first.

Dear Phillipa, have you ever tried a travel iron with steam? Or would the steam damage the wool? Thank you for your wonderful videos, I learn so much! 😺

The Clover iron is a great tool, but has that exposed shaft (why?) you can easily touch your finger to it.
I did accidentally touch my finger to that shaft, and the skin on my finger instantly turned to white ash.
So please be careful. Always look at the iron when you pick it up, and never use it around children or pets.
