I developed tremors and had a flare up during a project. First big shake that needle went through my thumb nail an the top of the pad... Man that bugger hurt for a week. I now have a service dog that can earn me before a flare up and now only stab myself a dozen or more times per project. That's right folks, needle felting is a blood sport when I do it 😅

I just started needle felting, found you thrgh this video. I love that your do's and don'ts are so practical. I also super appreciate, as a blind felter, that you talk through so much of what you're doing while you do it. So many people depend on just showing their work and don't narrate their actions. So thank you for making videos I can get information from. And lastly, you have such a soothing wonderful voice; I need a third hand so I can drink my tea while I felt, because I'd then be at pique contenment. Thank you for this channel!

Your videos teach so many things that I had to intuit through endless trial and error when I was starting out, so I'm definitely recommending your channel to my friends that I'm trying to get into needle felting! Wonderful work.

I just made my first and only animal (cat) out of cat hair, but using the other technique with soap and water and a template. It shrank by 70% in a few hours. It was soooo funny watching it shrink! I am going to try needle felting now. Wish me luck. Like your site very much! Great sense of humour Julie

It was helpful to see you holding a round shape either with a bit of unfelted wool sticking out the side or with another needle. I was having trouble felting a small round shape. Also liked the tip on how to join arms. Your videos are so instructive and fun to watch.

Thank you for this!
I do get discouraged from time to time with needle felting and often set it aside.
(I have several unfinished projects) 😂
Your easy-to-understand and gentle explanation encourages me to keep trying.
As you say, it's important that we enjoy what we're doing.

I'm definitely up for the "right side of the brain" with felting/sculpting;
I had the book when I was an art student (painting) and curious about your take on it😇

I bought my first animal kit which was a capybara..first newbie mistake was using too much felt as he ended up with a foat face 😂 Not a pretty sight but with my second kit (a ginger cat) i used much less wool as i can always add layers so that was my first lesson to learn! Like anything else, it's a learning curve! Yours is the first video ive watched on YouTube and i couldn't help but laugh while still learning some basics...new sub 😊

I am working with leather gloves. I really love to hold my piece in my hand, especially to felt tiny corners, I felt between my fingers and the leather gloves stop any stab!

I love that hunch back at the beginning. I'm gonna try to make one.

I liked this one too! I think what people forget is they are poking & teasing hair/fibers into a shape. That takes patience & determination. I love this hobby & fully admit many of mine look like mutants in their beginning core shape.

The Right and Left side of the Brain is defunct science now. Even when we are being creative, we use more than one of our brains. Neuroscience has advanced a lot since the 70s
