Hey i have a 91 ls400 with a leaking coolant freeze plug on the back of the head, what size is it?

Only ever hear about welsh plugs when they come loose but they do from time to time.

After engineering a block or head with as much strength as possible it seems a shitty solution to put a little tin cap in the casting holes. An Achilles heel.

I know it's probably not your expertise as a Kiwi, but do you know if it would be possible to install an engine block heater in any of these frost plug locations? I've got a 92' LS400 with 240k miles on it, and recently moved to one of the coldest places in the US, so I want to winterize it.
