Why did a wand with Fawkes' feather choose Tom Riddle? Also, did Ollivander get both feathers at the same time or different times? Thoughts on Lord Voldemort using a wand with a phoenix feather core? #dumbledore #voldemort #harrypotter

Curious. Very Curious. I remember every wand I've ever sold Mr Potter. It so happens that the Phoenix, whose tailfeather resides in your wand, gave another feather, just one other. It is curious that you should be destined for this wand, when its brother gave you that scar.

I think olivander experiments with the Wands. Trying to find the new best combination, how different cores respond to different thing. I think that when he received two phoenix feathers from the same bird, given at the same time, he saw a once in a life time opportunity. One core will be used in a holly wand which excel in protection, and it’s twin in a Yew that’s known to poison. The result tied into the prophecy between Voldemort and Harry

I remember hearing a theory that Fawkes did not contribute both feathers at the same time. The feather in Voldemort’s wand was given while Fawkes belonged to Credence (essentially had an allegiance to a dark wizard), but Harry’s came a few regenerations later after Dumbledore had him.

So apparently to further this claim, according to the internet Yew symbolizes death and resurrection

Magic is like a gun, or Electricity
It doesn't know the difference between
Good and evil. Only the caster does.
Magic only knows power and power draws more power, and power Is drawn to power.
There is no good or bad.

Yew wood may be toxic, but it is also used when “tempered” as an arrow shaft wood. It is particularly stiff and unyielding, as would befit Tom Riddle.

Holly is sung as the first in the green-wood. It has properties in the religious and old Celtic faiths. It has a natural flexibility and the ability to grow in difficult soils. Sounds a bit like Harry Potter!!!

But would it happen if harry wasn’t a horcrux, maybe the wand chose him because of the voldemort’s part in hom

Yew trees contain poison, but their fruit and leaves are materials for medicines.

It suddenly made perfect fucking sense right in the end.

I wonder if Dumbledore got Fawkes before or after giving the feathers. Did he get him so he try and learn about Tom Riddle and his wand more

Ironically, Yew wood is poisonous as well. So the dichotomy of a phoenix feather within the yew wood is such a good parallel.

I've always interpretated it like this: the yew wand represents death and the holly wand represented rebirth.

Maybe because Voldemort and Harry are both descendants of the Peverall brothers.

Oh my god on potter more you can find exactly what the length core and wood symbolise in a wand. The wood has way more meaning

I think the wand chose Tom riddle because it new about the prophecy and new that if Tom had a another wand harry would have died before he could fulfil the prophecy

How about....he wasn't the Dark Lord when he was a kid and first got his want, he only turned Dark later. Once you got a wand, no takesy backsy.

The Holly wood wand would’ve never picked Harry if he wasn’t a horcrux.
