Mint was my first linux distro, 5 years ago. After switching to linux, i had 2 years of massive distro hopping, and then i came back to mint ... and i'll stay here. Love the channel. Keep it up

First started in Linux full time on Mint back in 2015. I've distro hopped a lot since, but always went through seasons of getting back on Mint. I finally decided I'm just gonna park it here on Mint for my daily driver, and to solidify that decision I became a patron of the Mint project at $5 a month. Hard to hop away from a distro when you're contributing to it. I HIGHLY recommend people start funding their daily drivers. It's a cup of coffee per month.

I just want to add this. Anyone can get Verified. It don't have to be the original creator, someone just has to go through the steps. So anyone can get a repo not being done fork, verify and is there. This really isn't the best way of it, But is a "Pretty Good" thing and I love the direction they are taking.

Monthly bulletin from Mint stresses that discussions with Gnome developers have been constructive. That is why I really like Mint: a policy of no drama, get things working smoothly, let's all be calm and get on with our lives. Which can include pretty firm decisions, like no Snaps, and dropping KDE. But not making a song and dance about it.

I've been using Linux distros for about sixteen years now and I'm now using Linux Mint to replace Windows 11 on my new laptop. I really like how everything works out of the box. Both newbies and experts alike will enjoy using it.

I use LMDE and moved away from Windows as my computer is too old for Windows, anyway I wish there was a channel on YouTube that was dedicated to Linux Mint for new users as I am sure there is a lot I don't know and being old 78 would be good to go to that channel for help! Thanks, love your channel Bob in the UK

Very good. I do like that unverified software is hidden by default. Well done.

I found Linux Mint when trying out distros, and then to find out it was maintained by a guy named Clem (also my name), and my choice was cemented. Doesn't hurt that it's a really decent distro.

It's great that Mint's Software Manager is being made faster and more informative. It has been crying out for these improvements. I still find Flatpak 'verified' status confusing as to its security implications though. Will existing installations of third-party-packaged Flatpaks on Mint be retrospectively flagged as a 'huge security risk' (to quote the wording in the upgraded Software Manager)?

I've been using GNU/Linux in some fashion or another on and of for a period of 20 + years. I started my Linux journey back when you had to use the b43fw-package on distributions like Debian and the earlier variations of Red Hat Linux.

Mint Community and help forum are great. I use Timeshift and mintbackup before trying out solutions from the forum. Hoping best for the devs. By the way, I remembered winepak before. Those are pre-configure Wine Bottles.

I use LMDE btw :D
Yesterday I installed Gnome on it and it feels good enough to use it :)

Sir, could you do (or have you done) a segment visiting the present role of a Linux in AI? AI interactive gaming would be MY primary interest, but the topic as a whole would be forward-looking.

Since you mentioned Mint to Jumpdrive maybe you can answer my question. I have much success setting up Mint on Jumpdrive. I simply remove all other media except the Install and the Install target, making sure the target is being read as SDA to be safe. Then I clone my nice customized Mint to all my laptops. Problem.: Warpinator will only work on think the laptop I set it up on. No matter if I uninstall Warpinator with terminal or GUI it never seems to totally lose all settings. So when I reinstall it still does not work on the other laptops. Will it make a big difference if I wait and set up Warpinator on each laptop when new Mint comes out? Or you have other solutions? Thanks. Sorry so long.

Over the last few weeks some packages in LM updates have been VERY VERY slow to download. I've not updated to any new download server, but it has been annoying. Maybe it's just at my end but I feel like I'm doing a Window$ update now :(
