An absolute goddess on stage ! So haunting and mesmerizing in her performance ! She took a classic song and completely made it her own ! She delivered a dark emotional power packed performance ! I like that the song was set in the minor key because it plays so well with Diana's rich low tones ! She actually won this competition recently after 9 weeks of the show ! All the songs she performed were fabulous ! I would suggest " Oh it's Not Yet Evening " and " The Crow " from the show but all are really great ! This show's production values and the VR holographic projection technology they used on some of the performances were insane (actually transformed the room into crazy stairs in one of them). If it were a show in the west it would be nominated for just about every category a show could be. The format of the competition is pretty unique, too. Nine singers, who are also the judges, singing nine songs from nine categories. Only one of which is "singer's choice". This particular one was for the Grammy category. Started watching the show just for Diana but I liked the other singers too. It was a lighthearted affair with a lot of banter/joking. The scoring was unique in that it was from 9 to 2 and you couldn't award the same point total more than once so each singer would have to give someone a 2 and someone a 9 for the day. The daily winner had to sing an encore performance to send off the episode. The encore performances were interesting because it was live audio so they weren't exactly the same both times, which added a refreshing authenticity. Diana won and to send the whole season off they showed her encore performance of this song from the end of the first episode.

This was historic, and EPIC!!! I never thought anyone could go into the high range an take that vocal qualities past their transition point and into her soprano range. Yet, there it is sounding eerie and beautiful. Can you see this playing over a world wide cataclysm especially man made.

This was her warm-up to a series of performances. It's a power display of her vocal capabilities.
Thunder, lightning, storm and earthquake condensed into just 4 lines of lyrics.
Right at the beginning of this show series, she unpacked the hammer and shocked everybody - no one did recover through the following 8 weeks.
The bearded guy, who jumped to his feet, is a well travelled opera singer and husband to Anna Netrebko.

I don't think she does the arrangements alone but has someone she works with to get the mood and emotions she wants the audience to feel. She is a fantastic stage performer. She is only 18 so young in her development as a singer but I believe she is already a true contralto. I hope that as she matures, she will transition into a full dramatic contralto. The guy standing on the top tier who was on the verge of tears was Yusif Eyvazov who is married to Anna Netrebko, both well-known and respected opera singers. What does it say about her performance if she could move him to tears? I believe she said in an interview that she didn't like opera which is a pity because she would be world class and opera companies around the world would kill to have her perform with them.
