Phil Collins is a rare musical genius. A person who can sing and keep a completely different beat at that high of a drum skill level is pretty much unheard of and his vocal talent is awesome as well as his stage presence

The MOST beautiful thing? That there are no phones recording in the audience. Just people enjoying music.

From the moment the drumbeat starts at 2:22 in this video every Phil Collins fan knows what's coming. Some performers "own the stage" but Phil owned the arena, the concession stands, the parking lots, and the bus routes back home.

Years ago, when he appeared as a guest on the old Arsenio Hall late-night talk show, he told Arsenio that he preferred the British informality of addressing people he regarded as friends by using their abbreviated names. So he asked him if he could call him Arse ! Brought the house down.

Phil Collins is an icon. He wrote this song about his divorce. Singing and playing the drums at the same time is very difficult. He does it with ease. Love your reaction!

🇨🇦 Phil has always maintained that he is just a Drummer, that sings a little ! 🇨🇦

The beard belongs to Leland Sklar, who has played on more albums than most of us have even listened to, something like 2000 plus albums, many of them from big to enormous.

In terms of stage presence, just the slow walk across the stage is a masterclass in presence. No flash, just serious intensity

Phil Collins is one of the greatest drummers of all time and he just happens to be able to sing too.

Phil Collins performed this song on July 13, 1985 at Wembley Stadium in London. In front of 75, 000 spectators.
The performance was part of the legendary "LiveAidConcert" organized by Bob Geldof.
Around 2 billion people saw the concert worldwide.
After the performance, Phil Collins flew to the USA on the Concorde and had another performance there in Philadelphia on the same day

The way this song was choreographed for this live version is 100% all about stage presence. From Phil to the other players to the song and too the drums, it's stage presence. It's a great ride.

Ad everyone says. This is a master class in the art of the slow burn.

All the time he was walking around the stage there were no drums on that rear catwalk, until he got about ten feet away... They came up through the floor. Perfect timing for that iconic drum drop.
Great performances also - not only from the other musicians on set, but the sound and lighting crew. Everyone came together to give a performance second to none.
Thanks for posting.

Hello
Phil Collins' son, Nic is also playing drums too. Nic stepped in for his father on few occasions because Phil has some health issues lately.
Speaking of the man with long beard is Leland Sklar. Leland Sklar has his own YouTube channel. On the channel, Leland tells stories of his long career in music such as playing bass for Phil Collins. He sometimes plays one of basses along with certain songs such as this classic. Check his channel out!

The best thing about this review is the fact you didn't stop it every minute or left your opinion to the end, which I wish every reaction video would you have lovely eyes

That live performance is over 20 years old and it's just as amazing watching today as it was when he performed it live over 20 years ago.

The guy with the beard is Leland Sklar, one of the best bass players in the industry. He is on over 2000 albums and on stage with many different artists.
