Just found out that this is filmed in my home state of Missouri near Sparta.

This is why I hope the 2023 film "Reveille" is soon released to a movie theater near where I live and why as a Jew, I cannot condemn all World War W2 Wehrmacht German soldiers for the Nazi Holocaust, or even for the many atrocities committed by the Wehrmacht. This is because not all World War 2 German soldiers were Hitler's willing executioners or Nazis. The World War 2 Wehrmacht also had a great many German soldiers who were innocent draftees, and even many decent volunteers who were not Nazis or supporters of Hitler.

In 1982, I saw the Wolfgang Petersen movie "Das Boot"(The Boat), a World War 2 movie about a German U-boat. Being a Jew did not stop me from cheering for the crew of the U-boat and then getting upset when only one member of the U-boat crew survived the air raid at the end of this wonderful movie by the late Wolfgang Petersen.

I also have a great respect for how the reunified German nation of today makes sure never to forget the Nazi Holocaust. One of the very best trips to Europe I have ever been on, was in September of 1989, when I was in Munich for the Oktoberfest. Those Bavarians really know how to party!

Unfortunately, the German-speaking soldiers have an extremely strong American accent. It is very difficult for me to understand the German, which completely ruins the immersion. German speaking actors would have been a good choice.

I turned the movie off after 10 minutes.

Looks like more low budget revisionist malarkey. Just watch Dana Andrews' Walk in the Sun which is the exact same film about GIs in Italy filmed in 1945. Better writing, better acting and better everything from the top notch studio era factory of the 40s.
