Quantum computing: the challenges and opportunities behind the headlines

In his talk organised between the IMechE South Essex Area Members and Anglia Ruskin University, Dr Richard Murray, CEO of ORCA Computing, will summarise the state of the art, and how ORCA Computing are looking to build quantum computers with a completely new approach that leverages single units of light (photons), optical fiber and off-the-shelf telecoms equipment.

Quantum computing is an emerging answer to the world’s data challenges but so-far have not yet achieved the thousands of qubits that are needed to solve useful problems.
