I have a 15yr old Makita impact that's in daily use and a 10 yr old battery I just retired

You’ve set the Milwaukee to the highest torque setting, and the Makita to one below their highest. You can see it at the very beginning if you pause fast enough.

I trust the makita battery longevity over the red everytime.💪

Makita.
and never killed a battery in ten years. These tool brands making all these tiny improvements thinking it doesn’t anything for production is a scam. Anything brushless with a 3.0 plus battery is going to do the job in a timely manner.
Makita reigns supreme in quality and longevity while Milwaukee will continue to break itself.

I’ve had a Makita impact drill and batteries for over 8 years now (daily use) and they are still going strong, my friend bought the Milwaukee combo about 5 years ago and had to replace the batteries on year 4. I think I can wait an extra half a second if my batteries are going to last more than doble the years of use. 🙂

My making impact is 10 years old and still going. I also have used Milwaukee impacts and had nothing but problems with them

Been using makita for close to 12 years professionally with no real issues. But when I seen all the hype around Milwaukee I couldn’t resist so I grabbed a fuel comb, impact and drill. I wasn’t impressed at all and returned then. While they have great power and look good, they do not compare to makitas buttery smooth action and PERFECT ergonomics.

I use Makita for everything. Makita has less snapping screws because the hammer on the impact has more teeth so can get a more precise tightness rather than snapping a screw or bolt which I see happen all the time. You take breaks at work anyway, the extra one second it takes is literally useless.

Makita is lighter than Milwaukee. For that reason Makita is the best.

Lmfao makita all the way

Milwaukee has the battery jiggle and for long term daily use and longevity no thank you dealing with that issue and being in the middle of trying to break loose a bolt or drive in a screw or cut pipes just no thank you

Only thing that sucks is that makita takes a long time for things to come out but thank God they do its worth the wait

So how is it they compare a 4-v to an m18 18v?

Now do that all day for a year and see which one is still running.

I'd like to see a heavy heavy use comparison. Like when the drill's hot from use. Compare them then and see how they go against each other at their worst state.

Yeah I'm using my fathers 12v Makita from. . . 10+? years ago. Near daily overtime for 6 years and a little less after. He bought another set near immediately to have and the guns all work aside from the one ran over, one of the original batteries works near perfect, other I recently retired. Though you can often hit them with 14-18v on a battery monitor to bring them back. On the other plus side is aftermarket 12v batteries with more capacity are $15/ea. and going on 3? years strong. Power settings of guns aside, thanks other commenters*, I also really dislike milwaukee bits, they fall apart and I don't like the slim neck.
