Love what you said about opposite. When we work on fixes I tell my students that we are rehearsing the extreme opposite so I can pull you in the direction of what will ultimately be correct.

E,
I tried this concept over a year from a different teacher. He didn't explain the concept well enough like you did. Your visual help me understand what to expect. When I first tried it a year ago it made no physical sense in my mind. Thanks for the visual and thorough explanation.

PERFECTLY described. The title of this video is very accurate. Nobody talks about the hinge enough in the takeaway, well done on this one. very good instruction.

Yes I did, I went down the rabbit hole working on the perfect takeaway, club path, tilt etc. This video literally fixed my takeaway and tied my swing together.
I was not very far off with my original swing thought being, keeping the club outside the hands on the takeaway. By adding the proper arm rotation, (turning to the left) the swing now seems to just fit together naturally. I was checking out some swings at the local range and saw a lot of right hand turns! Thanks Eric

I’ve never seen anyone else explain this so clearly. As you said in the video, lots of people talking about the checkpoints but the second you do a full swing you’re straight back in to old habits. This over exaggerating of the opposite movement is gold! Thank you

This is the very best advice you can get IMHO. It's amazing when watching on video how the brain wants to return the club to neutral subconsciously in the down swing. Makes sense I suppose when you think about it. Horizontal and inside on the takeaway is going to mean an out and vertical motion in the downswing because there is nowhere else to go.

Another terrific video on how a swing should feel. You are the absolute best at explaining these feels. Thank you!

I felt like I couldn't hit anything properly yesterday. Saw this video this morning and your tips fixed everything. Thanks, Cogorno!

Eric, you're awesome!!! This finally fixed my backswing after 30 years of playing.

Excellent instruction! You have a very simple way of explaining things so that it’s easy to understand. I think I’ve been hinging my wrists too much in the beginning of my backswing so I’m excited to try this new drill.

This is what I needed. Thank you Eric. It’s hard to figure it out by yourself

Perfect, I made exactly what you said about turning my hands! Finally I get a Full BackSwing! With a squared golf club!!! Thanks a lot! In fist look, its looks terrible, but when doing the full swing is perfect. FULL SQUARED BALL!!!!

Great Demo. I use this drill since last year . First I had the Same Impression. But now I am able to execute a correct one Piece take away with „hands in and Club Head our“.

Totally agree with doing the opposite. To avoid my excessive forearm roll I really need to feel pushing the clubhead wayyyy out. A drill trick I have successfully applied recently is to set the wrists early by pushing down the handle with my left hand. If I concentrate keeping the handle pointing left of target until shaft parallel, the clubhead goes up so fast that I simply have no time to take it back inside 🙂

Love your videos! I find that on my takeaway I look for the club face angle to match my spine angle as a visual key. Also, on some of your video demonstrations I would love to see you in slow motion. Thanks.

I’m guilty of being too far inside, especially with woods. My fix is to imagine a race between the club head and my hands for the first 12-16 inches. My hands have to win the race to stay on plane.

I was literally driving and want to try the steering wheel drill lol. It definitely gives me a good feeling to bring club inside

For me this works only when on the downswing you consciously turn the right forearm clockwise/right palm facing the sky, to allow the club head to fall backwards.
