When I’m Florida, the thing to remember is, the farther north you go, the farther south you are.

I think the fruit salad mentioned might be the one called "ambrosia", which is made with Cool Whip, which many people don't consider a food. And the salad usually contains mini marshmallows as well.

As an American, I’m now craving and starving. Thanks, List 25!

There are 2 types of people in this world: those who believe that biscuits and gravy is a complete meal and those who are wrong.

As an American I would agree that half of the things on this list are disgusting as well.

Brit here. I hate the really sweet food but chicken & waffles, root beer and biscuits & gravy are fantastic! I make my own biscuits regularly and to make it even better, I butter them like scones before pouring the gravy over. They are after all, basically plain buttermilk scones, which in Britain don't have added sugar.
As for sweet tea - yuck. But I love unsweet tea!

Mike had to comment, I love your show. I am also Jewish. I married a Jewish guy and converted. It was important to me to raise the children Jewish. We ended up adopting a son, Noah. I was very touched learning of your story. Mazel Tov on all your success. Fan forever, Marilou King

Anyone old enough to remember when the Pop Tart sleeves were thick white paper and not foil?

Not all the world feels that way about mint. My dad was an Immigrant from India and used mint in both sweet and savory. One thing different in India, sweet and savory are often mixed. Coconut rice. Mango with chicken. Mint chutney, mint in palak paneer.

I love how so many of these are southern foods I grew up in the south and still love it.

Biscuits and gravy are the best! Only home made though. Make extra biscuits to fry up later!

Mike I make peanut butter cups, that taste exactly like the Reese's peanut butter cups, I usually make them the size of jumbo muffins, but I have made them pie sized. Pork rinds are a diabetic friendly treat, all fat and protein and zero carbs

As a non American, these aren't disgusting, just the candies are a tad too sweet. Love Mint Oreo, Rootbeer, ketchup and the Blooming onion is blooming fantastic! 😋

To be fair, a lot of Americans think some of these are disgusting too lol. The ice thing was a bit of a shock when I visited Europe though. Most places don't serve drinks with it and asking for ice I found, is a good way to out yourself as American.

While on a 3-week business trip to Duesseldorf, I sprained an ankle. Trying to get ice for it was like pulling teeth. It turned out I could only get ice at the bar...in the cutest little 2-cube ice bucket ever!

Canadian here. I once went to Memphis. On the way, I stopped at a McDonalds and saw something new on the menu, biscuits and gravy. I gave it a try and mey, it was at least edible. First morning I was in Memphis, my hosts offered biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Being the polite Canadian, I said ok. Man, what I ate at that breakfast had nothing whatever to do with the cardboard and dishwater I was served at McDonalds. I couldn't get enough of it. They ended up laughing at me, I ate so much.

American milk chocolate is also something a lot of people in the world don't like. When he was first formulating it, Milton Hershey decided that it gave the chocolate a bit of character if they let the milk go ever so slightly sour. Not so sour as to be rotten, just barely enough to lend the chocolate a bit of alternative flavor so it won't be bland. Most Americans, raised on Hershey's-style milk chocolate, probably can't even detect the sourness, it blends in so well. But to a palette unaccustomed to that alternative flavor, it can taste like the chocolate has a bit of puke in it.
