Adapted from the beloved literary classic, THE CALL OF THE WILD vividly brings to the screen the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transplanted to the exotic wilds of the Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. As the newest rookie on a mail delivery dog sled team--and later its leader--Buck experiences the adventure of a lifetime, ultimately finding his true place in the world and becoming his own master.

As a live-action/animation hybrid, THE CALL OF THE WILD employs cutting edge visual effects and animation technology in order to render the animals in the film as fully photorealistic--and emotionally authentic--characters.

I just saw this in theaters and I was not disappointed. The movie was so much fun and fast paced but also beautiful, powerful, even spiritual. I loved this movie so much I’m even considering seeing it again on the big screen!

Thought the movie was pretty good. Having read the book as a kid, the film was very well-adapted to be more family-friendly (the book is really violent at times). I think the animation was amazing, the fur details and emotions on the animals were totally life-like. Also, I liked how the sled team were different breeds instead of just being huskies as it made them seem more individual (though I can't identify some of the breeds). A movie I'd defiantly recommend.

Dang Spitz reminds me of Steele. Even though Steele is a malamute and spitz is an actual husky. But spitz has the same personality as Steele. They are both bullies and they both want to humiliate their arch nemesis Balto and Buck. And they both got defeated by their pack/friends.
