I remember reading the book version of this, so finding out that there's a movie of it is quite the pleasant surprise! Certainly brought back a good bit of nostalgia.

Although I definitely preferred the book over the movie, this movie was still amazing. I love how they modernised the book, as the original book was written in the 1900’s and would NOT be allowed today. I love how they changed Perrault and Francois to be good characters, as in the book they were the ones who treated Buck badly. What I wasn’t really a fan of was the way Buck got stolen. It was different, but I felt it was pretty poorly done, more like one of those dog Disney movies. I like how Hal is the final villain of the movie. He was only a very minor character in the book. Literally his only role in the book was to mistreat Buck for a little bit (where John finds Buck), and then fall into the ice (killing off the entire team of dogs that we’d grown to love, sadly). It was unexpected but I have to admit, he worked as the main villain. Also, the CGI dogs are very, very weird looking, but it’s quite easy to ignore that and it’s also more humane than using actual dogs :) Sorry, that was kind of an essay, I just love this book lol

I wish there were more movies like this. Where a house dog for some reason has to fend for himself in the wild(preferably a cool looking dog like a kangal) and manages to survive. The dog falling in love with one of the wild animals there would make the movie better imo but if that doesn't happen I think the movie would still be fun to watch. If anyone knows more movies like this please let me know.

I loved this book growing up Jack London did a great job this is probably my favorite work of his. The movie was fairly true to the book as well which I appreciate from the directors. The only critique I have is that instead of Hal killing John in the book Indians did.

I watched half of the movie in other platforms. I always think this is a really good movie and even the comic book series "dog man" even took inspiration from it. I think this is the best movie that features a dog as the protagnist

Based on the novel "the call of the wild".
Read this novel 25 years back as a kid. We had a summary chapter of this in our English book at schook. The story fascinated me and I went on to buy the novel and have read it multiple times during childhood. I just love it.
