1 suggestion I would make after working at Lowes where sometimes we had to change out damaged doors on refrigerators would be to take pictures or video of the layout of the wiring harness and water connections on top of the doors before removing them. All the control panel wiring and sensor wiring from the doors is up there. It can be confusing to reconnect when replacing the doors. Makes life easier to go back and see what it looked like before.

I ALMOST teared up when you talked about your kids. Know the feeling all too well - but unlike you - mine are all grown up. Still a tight family but those days are gone.
Either way, I know the feeling well. Refrigerators are total nightmares to get in a home. And yes, I learned the hard way that you have to be super careful about which one you choose to get inside the house :)

Here's how I buy appliances. These stores all have 2 yearly sales where prices are the best of the year. I wait for that time and toward the end of the sale they usually have a BUNCH of returns. I find Best Buy usually has the most returns. They will sometimes even send most of them to a few particular stores in large metro areas. When a return during the sale hits the floor they are marked down even more from the original price. So instead of getting $500 off, you can get $800 off a brand-new appliance. Many don't have anything wrong with them, since many of these appliances were returned for the reason you found, they didn't fit in the home.

It's ridiculous that home designers don't make exterior/interior doors wider. Just making them 6 inches wider would solve most entry problems.

I.bought washer n dryer, open or display items, that's where the big savings is at....5 yrs later and those washr n dryer are still going strong 💪

There’s an old vid on The Handyman YT channel called the Lowe’s scam you need to know about. It describes the an incident involving reselling a faulty appliance (washer) in the mark down section. Glad your purchase went ok!!!

I only buy open boxed appliances. One tip when buying an open box at Lowe's is they usually don't allow extended service plans on them. What you have to do is buy it and a few days later come back and buy the plan. I have yet to have an open boxed appliance last the full term of the extended service plan. They will fix it a few times and finally send you a check for the price you paid. This has happened on three freezers, two refrigerators and a beverage cooler. They don't make them like the use to.

I can’t tell whether you had a soft brace on under your shirt, but please by all means protect your back by wearing a heavy duty, leather back brace when carrying, pushing, pulling extremely heavy items along with safety gloves to protect your hands.. When I’m in Costco, Walmart, and I see young guys lifting and pulling heavy items on those pallets, I always warn them. I can’t help it.When you’re young, you don’t feel it but later on it catches up. RN, BSN of 31+ years here. Retired early due to sciatica. Great video and thank you!❤❤

I bought a new refrigerator about 9 months ago. I was a bit surprised with one thing. They told me delivery was included (sounds good). But delivery was putting it on the curb by your house (Huh!), instillation was extra! Had I known this before I had already paid for the fridge I may have gone with another vender, but I put out additional money for the installation. The fridge has been good, and the installation people were very good, but I feel a bit deceived, and I would not recommend them.

🌟🌟🌟My cousin pre-ordered supplies for a huge renovating job at The Home Depot and was told he did not specifically need to reserve a 🚛truck because…”they had several!”
🌟Come pick up day…there were no trucks‼‼‼
🌟There was not a truck left…nope…none.
🌟No problem…he drove to Lowe’s and rented 🚚one of their trucks…drove to the Home Depot…the employees objected that a 🚚Lowe’s truck was in the loading bay. 
🌟Actually, they were quite pissed off‼‼‼
He told the Home Depot that he was told he did not need to reserve a 🚛truck…when he specifically wanted to.
But, anyway he loaded 🚚all his purchases and got the supplies home‼🚚
…And finished the Reno job.
And returned the truck 🚚to Lowe’s‼Very pleased‼
