A most important subject, thank you for raising it, Richard. Advertising, of course has used these "spell" techniques for a very long time. Likewise, television and tv dramas. The worst users of the words technique are guv' ments. They actually employ people to use words in these ways. "Safe and Effective" was one of the most obvious mantras which literally bewitched the entire population (well, most of them). They do it all the time. 🧐

Spot on Richard!, the power of 3 was used frequently during the panto, and the word spelling is a derivation of spell. In medieval times ordinary folk were illiterate, and the rich and powerful not. And were looked on with awe and considered to be dabbling in magic. In other words those who could write could in general 'spell'!

Been saying this for years. Those that do not think this is real and think that SPELLS only work if they are recognised as such, think about this. What is a CON-tract?
Have you ever come out of a show and either heard someone or said that was "spellbinding"?
Blacks Law Dictionary is nothing more than a book of grimoire, a spell book.
Why do you think a mobile and that thing in your house is called a "Phone"? It is related to phonetics. That is the way of using, pronouncing/enunciation of the spell you are about to cast.

I agree Richard when all this nonsense began I refused to use the trigger words beginning with a C and a P I just said virus when they tried to restrict our movements I refused to use the word beginning with L I could see the spell was working when people used it as part of the language and in fact fully embraced it
