Good one! But hey I think it’s useful to discern between actual etymology and this kind of esoteric lexicography. Both are super useful and cross over a lot, but your video here - as an introduction to etymology - doesn’t mention how we discover the root words and the journeys through time and through conquests and migrations and paradigm shifts and all the human magic captured in our words. Mind you, you’ve made such a cool video I reckon anyone who would be interested will immediately set of on their research journey… good on you for doing this young buck 👍🏼🙏🏼

Thanks for sharing this. Words have more than one meaning and depending on context, usage and place/time those meanings can change dramatically! Etymology is definitely a cool field of study for "word geeks" like me! :)

sure TV controls us remotely, but it really means control the TV remotely. in my day.... we watched cartoons close to the TV, because TVs were way smaller, and we changes channels with our toes. there were only like 3 channels to choose from for cartoons on saturday mornings. only twelve possible stations before cable TV. even then, there was 2-13 A and B, which also had to be physically switched between A and B.
MTV was channel 13B.
