7 Reasons Why PARASITE Won Best Picture

Leading up to the awards show, PARASITE was not the favorite... A lot of things had to go right for this film to beat out 1917 and ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD.

The Academy Awards made history when it crowned South Korea’s PARASITE the Best Picture of 2019, becoming the first international, non-English speaking film to win the award in the 92 years of its existence.

Original, timely, fun and profound. Other candidates have one or two advantages, but parasites have a lot. This was an opportunity not to be missed in Oscar, which was never a coincidence.

That about sums it up. However, I feel K Dramas, some, are even more compelling. For example, Netflix's "Rookie Historian" is a page turner.

Parasite and Joker are fairly close to each other if you look closely. The networks of symbols are more numerous and present in Parasite but they are on a relatively close on the subject with symbols which serve the subject.

The nomination and winning of parasite as best picture seems “bought” the screenplay and writing was alright. Should have got nominated for best acting/lead role but there are many movies out there far better than that.
It seems like Oscar just had to maintain it’s image at international level so they choose it
