Thank you so much for mentioning they’re coming out with a fancy new edition of Fingersmith! I had no idea and I’m so excited—it’s gorgeous!

I went to my library online catalog and borrowed “Five Little Indians” Thanks for hauling this book; otherwise, I would not have known about it.

I recently read Five Little Indians with my marginalized authors book group and we really enjoyed it. It's a tough book, but beautiful.

This was such a brilliant video, my favourite books are first nations people and indigenous culture. I love the Cash Blackbear series by Marcie R. Rendon, the latest one in the series Sinister Graves was recently released and I was so excited to read it. I loved The Break and also re-read it before reading The Strangers, which was a powerful read. Happy reading, I am really looking forward to hearing your thoughts on these booksxx📚

'half a lifetime on'....that really stung 🤣 I'm 34 and I feel like being 16 was yesterday, but also 1000 years ago!

Too Much Lip is so good, I really enjoyed her previous novel "Mullumbimby" too. Melissa Lucashenko is such a brilliant author, she really captures peoples humanity and is so clever at capturing dark humour in challenging circumstances. I'm trying to phrase this without giving too much away. I feel like I really need to read Too Much lip again, it's that good.
She's a great speaker and interviewer too. There's a short TV series made by the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC our BBC) called "The Books That Made Us" Too Much Lip is one of the books featured, of course, it won the Miles Franklin Award too. The Books That Made Us has a companion book of the same name written by Carl Reinecke, it's great guide to some interesting Australian literature and the history of Australian literature.

I'm taking part in both Skoden readathon and Nonfiction November and I am also very much looking forward to reading as much as possible.
A lot of the books on your Skoden readathon is unknown to me which is super fantastic as it means more books to discover ^^.
The only book i have is "The Break" which I would like to read for the readatho.
I have both books by Robin Wall Kimmerer, I have two middle grade books "The Brave" by James Bird and "Elatsoe" by Darcie Little Badger.
I also have "The Seed Keeper" by Diane Wilson, "Earth Keeper" by N. Scott Momoday and a few more.
Well, happy reading!

I haven’t yet had the pleasure of reading anything by Sarah Waters. You’re making me want to grab either The Paying Guests or Fingersmith. I think I have both. I haven’t read The secret History either. Yowza I’ late in that one.🤦🏾‍♀️ Will go check out Kim too!

As for Murder on the Red River, my advice is not to read it as a mystery. Instead, read it for the experience of a Native American woman. I really enjoyed it when I read it that way and the second book is the next one up on my e-reader.

I loved seeing all the Canadian literature on your list. Quite a few of the books you mentioned were featured on a Canadian program called Canada Reads. It happens every March and they get Canadian celebrities to debate a book each. I'd highly recommend you check it out. Past episodes can be found on youtube.

Watching your videos and your tbr shrinking has inspired me to do the same, I’ve given myself a year to get down to 0 books.

My first three books for #nonficnov are
War Doctor on audio
The Road to Middlemarch on kindle
Let Me Not Be Mad in text
Haven’t decided on a 4th yet. I’m hoping that the 4th will also count for #skodathon

I'm so glad you said that about Juliet Marrillier s most recent trilogy! I really didn't get in to it and I actually dnfed the second book ( which feels like a heresy as she is one of my alltime favourite authors)
