Great video, I have an RG503 on the want to put ArkOS on it. Nice to see how simple it is.

One of the best things about the stock firmware, but missing from ArkOS is Vertical Arcade mode. You put your vertical arcade mame roms in the "varcade" folder, turn the device sideways, and you get to use the entire vertical screen for those classic games. Let's hope it's included in an update -- it's probably the #1 reason to buy this device. I like the improved Dreamcast, PSP and especially Saturn performance with ArkOS, but Naomi and Atomiswave need BIOS somewhere, which is not needed on the stock card. So right know, I go back and forth between these two firmware options.

Great video Jim. It's too bad that arkos can't boost the performance too much. Ark os is still awesome though. Is amberelec available for it? That's usually what I use for these devices.

in my opinion anbernic has mounted a poorly performing chipset based on 4 cortex a55 which are not enough to emulate dreamcast, psp and saturn well, in order not to make the rg552 look bad. It was enough to mount a chipset similar to that of the rp2 plus and everything would have run perfectly, keeping production costs low, as well as prices, but the company must also sell the rg552 on the market.If it was my company I would never put the rg552 into production and I would have put a more powerful processor on this rg503, it would have won hands down even on the rp2 plus !! or I would have created an ayn odin style rg552 console, with much more powerful hardware, capable of emulate powerful consoles like psp, ps2 and gamecube.All this happened only because the anbernic only cares about making a lot of money on its products!These are the usual very bad choices of Chinese companies !!
