Like how Shanks decided to not attend not only because he wanted to take care of his friend but because he felt like he wasn't worthy of going to Laughtale since the reason he and Buggy got that far in the Grandline was due to having many strong pirates carrying them there like Roger, Gaban, Rayleigh, Oden, etc. Reminds me of how Luffy didn't want Rayleigh to tell the Strawhats where Laughtale is or if the One Piece is even real they know what makes being a pirate so great isn't the destination but the journey.

I still have a weird theory that laugh tale has a negative effect on devil fruit users. We don't know of any other crew of roger that used devil fruits besides buggy so far.
