Tamago kake Gohan with @barnaclefoods

I’ve made Tamago Kake Gohan dozens of times as a quick meal (primarily for breakfast). @barnaclefoods had sent me both their Furikake Kelp and their Everything Kelp Seasoning and while I had intended on making this dish with Furikake, I had a moment and grabbed the Everything Kelp on accident.
Lucky for me it was a delicious accident 😬 The addition of the dried garlic from the seasoning brought in that bagel vibe in a really nice way.
Ingredients:
• 1 cup short grain rice, cooked and hot
• 1 large egg (and an additional yolk for serving)
• 1 tsp soy sauce
• ½ tsp mirin
• a pinch of hondashi
• a pinch of mirin
• 1 tbsp Everything Kelp Seasoning (like barnacle foods) plus more to taste
Steps:
• Add the hot rice, the whole egg, soy sauce, mirin, hondashi and msg to a bowl. Stir vigorously with chopsticks until thick and frothy.
• To serve, make an indentation in the center and place the reserved yolk in it. Cover with Everything Kelp Seasoning and enjoy!
