Review of DAP fast and Final Spackling

Not knowing much about spackling, I asked the guy at True Value if I could use it for wall repair. Him actually having no idea, said, yeah, you could use that. Wrong! This spackling is good for small holes from nails in walls to hold pictures only.

I wouldn't use this for much else!

I love this product as do many subcontractors who specialize in the installation of wood trim surrounds for doors, windows, and base boards. If you use a nail gun and set/sink your nails below surface leaving a small hole in the surface, this product will fill and cover the nail holes and takes paint beautifully. Be sure to use a flexible putty knife and apply enough pressure to fill the hole but leave no residue around it. (I prime my trim with an oil base primer prior to installation.). You can apply your top coat immediately after you finish with the. hole spackling and you'll never have problems with this filler pushing the paint outward. You'll never even find. the. holes. It's the right preferred product for this particular detail in finish carpentry and finish painting. It's not meant. for wall patches, etc.

This product is for very small touch ups, like nail holes and thumb tack holes. The video shows the wrong application and he did not wait for it to dry and just painted over it. User error is at play here

I hate that stuff. I waited days, weeks, and it just wasn't workable. So now I exclusively use the DryDex joint compound.

Dap patch n paint. Ive tried them all and there is none like this. Best sparkle, amazing application, nothing like it.

It's so lightweight it was like trying to use whipped cream... it didnt want to stick or fill the smallest depression. They say ro mix it but that didn't do anything. I've used a lot of spackles Since I hung wallpaper for over 20 years But lightweight or regular it was always ready to use when opened, with some body to it. I'm searching now for something comparable to what I'm used to but I understand some companies have closed due to the pandemic. Home Depot didn't have what I wanted so I'll try DAP vinyl at Lowe's. I'm willing to sand and would almost prefer it

You used the wrong stuff to fix wall ¿ you need MUD ( joint compound) to repair drywall, not spackle.

I should have checked reviews. A day later in high heat and low humidity and the stuff is completely unworkable garbage.

Junk! I'm a handyman and every once and awhile I'll forget ive tried this garbage and buy a tub. Just to regret every minute of it.
