But it's in reverse so he owes you

I’ve seen Blackmores night live many times and even though he hardly says or does anything besides plying his instrument, there’s always this one moment when he does something cheeky…

He’s got a brilliant sense of humour and this video is a pretty good example for it.

Ritchie is one of the greatest guitar players to ever live and yet barely gets any recognition. His playing in the 80s was phenomenal
Edit: to anyone commenting “barely any recognition?” When people im surrounded by talk about the greatest guitarists ever, it’s always Eric Clapton, SRV, Jimmy Page, or others. I never hear Blackmore included in that

Blackmore is not only a Gentleman in his honesty & humbleness but a Great teacher, explaining the origins & boldness of the octaves👍

Ritchie Blackmore is really underappreciated imo. Love his unique playing and writing style

That’s a nice story, but there’s a legend that in the Spring of 1827, a boy would hear strange sounds coming from a cemetery he passed everyday in Austria. He was scared and told him mother. Trying to take away his fears she went with the boy to the cemetery, but she also heard the sounds, which appeared like music. She then called a local musician who accompanied the two to the site. He listen carefully and followed the strange music towards where it came. They all followed him and stopped where the music was the loudest. The musician recognized that it was Bethoven’s Fifth Symphony, but in reverse. To his amazement, he also realized they were standing in front of the great composer’s tomb! So, he told the boy and his mother, we must leave everything alone. The maestro is just decomposing.

It's only 12 notes all organized in millions of different ways. Blows my mind how timing and arrangement makes all the difference! Now I know why Smoke on the water is a ubiquitous song. It's directly descended from one of the alltime masterpieces! Learn something new everyday

It's a Carlos Lyra's song. He is a brazilian singer and songwriter. In 1964 he record and released a song he wrote called Maria Moita. This is Ritchie Blackmore's true "source of inspiration." I know that It's more beautiful to say that Beethoven inspired him, but the truth is only one.

I’m always so happy to see stuff like this. I feel like, for so long, people have dismissed “rock” musicians as not being “real” musicians. So many of these guys really know their stuff

Ritchie is just bullshitting the guy. That's his sense of humor 🤣🤣

That's really amazing. I didn't realize how deep his musical knowledge went. To think it isn't something raw and is so refined is actually mind blowing lol

That deadpan delivery of "... so I owe him a lot of money" was comedic genius at it's finest and it made me laugh my ass out
