Wow, the comments here are awesome. The 4Runner love runs deep. Lol. I received some viewer feedback and did some research and found out some of the tech features I said you couldn’t get; you actually can depending on trim level. That being said, the tech is still ancient, and my other points are totally valid. If I offended anyone, all I can do is quote the champ Conner McGregor and say, “I'd like to apologize... to absolutely nobody”. Lol. Thanks for checking out the video guys. 😊

Every reason stated here makes me want a 4Runner even more. Good, keep the "masses" and aunt Gerdy away from 4Runner. Quality over quantity. But all still valid points based on how most Americans value their consumer goods

Every point you made is true. However I want the peace of mind that every time I get in my 4Runner and hit the start button, it starts and gets me there and back without having to think about it.

Yep, the powertrain and tech features are old school - but all the bugs were work out years ago. Keep in mind that the current 4Runner is assembled in Japan not Mexico.

Bulletproof engine and transmission, I dont want a bunch of junk tech in my car I just want Air Conditioning and cruise control.

These days who can afford to only keep an offroad vehicle for a few years when they cost nearly 50k new and 20-30k used?

The Jeep or the Bronco have cooler body styling but they will also have problems that I will simply never experience as a 4runner owner.

Everything else is a non issue for a buyer like me, if you look at the sales numbers you will find there are a lot of buyers like me.

The running gear in that rig will outlast all Chevy & ford out there combined.it’s all about reliability. We all know there are better looking more powerful vehicles out there, but again, that vehicle with proper maintenance and attention will easily take you a million miles. New and flashy isn’t always better. 👍🏼👍🏼

I've owned 2 5th Gen 4Runners and I have to say they are such amazing reliable tanks. The 4runner does have back up sensors and the 4runner does have remote start and I'd like to see if you get the reliability with a KIA or a Ford.

George, those five reasons are exactly why I, along with many others, chose to invest in a 5th gen 4Runner. The 6th gen 4R, with its unnecessary new tech and unproven 4-cylinder engine, just doesn’t inspire the same confidence in reliability. Here in Florida, I get a solid 21 mpg in the city and 22 on the highway. If speed were my priority, I’d go for a V8 muscle car. But in the end, I’m thrilled to have spent $50K on a proven, bulletproof platform that’s built to last. This 4Runner is more than just a vehicle; it's a reliable companion that will likely outlive me. Cheers!

When you say that you can get a Jeep or a Bronco with "more modern tech, " what are you actually referring to? The head unit screen size? Or actual technology? The 4Runner comes standard with adaptive radar cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, & automatic emergency braking. The Jeep & the Bronco do not have any of that as standard. The 4Runner also offers parking sonar & remote start, two technology-based features that you (oddly) stated that it doesn't have.

I'll also add that I do not own or drive a 4Runner. Just prefer a little more objectivity in reviews.

Most of why you would not buy one is exactly why I just bought a 2024. Old school tech, off road capable, tried and true reliability, etc etc. You can have your kia or cybertruck. I will keep my gen 5. But thanks for your thoughts on the matter. Good to hear different opinions. I made my choice and am happy. Go ahead and make yours and good luck.
