I love how Hermes expression changed when he passed Ody the wind bag; he saw the trauma coming back at him and how he grabbed it so close for no one to touch it. Man knew he needed a hug at this time.

Seeing Ody get emotional over the wind bag, clearly grieving the loss of his fleet, and Hermes giving him a heartfelt hug was so powerful. The true warmth Hermes exudes in this- yes, still a trickster goofball but VERY fond of his descendant and worried about him- was meaningful, beautiful.

I love how human Hermes starts looking at the end. When Ody breaks down over the windbag, Hermes realizes how much pain his grandson has been through, something I don't think he quite grasped before as the God Of Winging It, and gives him the comfort he needs. And then at the very tail end he looks so regretful he wasn't the one to fight for Ody. Love it!

Oh my goodness I’ve rewatched too many times! The fact that Hermes has sharp teeth near the end 3:08 tells me Hermes has a bit of ruthlessness in him too. Maybe that’s where Ody gets it. ❤

I love how at first, Ody is a little annoyed by Hermes like "where have you been all this time" and "dude you're doing to much" but slowly starts to get entertained by Hermes and is actually a little happy to see him, specifically at 1:13 when Hermes taps him with the staff.

This is perfect. Odysseus getting soggy from the waves and his absolutely bored expression while Hermes is being Hermes. The owl pendant thing on his sword. The hug. Hermes amused little smile when Odysseus asked who fought for him. The ‘erm, actually’ looking winion.
