ok, but why was this video the hardest thing I've ever done ever. Not even joking, part of what took it so long to come out is that I was just struggling to make some parts of it. If you only saw the timeline on my editing program, oh god. It was a mess. But it's here :D

i like the idea Hermes made the tiny boat travel fast when the beat drop. Hermes is god of travel and his blessing is probably the one blessing odyseuss reallly needs the most, and is probably the only reason he's alive.

i know Hermes helped twice but considering Hermes is god of travellers and hospitality, thievery and cunning, heralds and diplomacy, on top of a messenger of the gods and a psychopomp, Odyseuss's life clearly far more suited to be under Hermes' patronage. i suppose the fact that Hermes is Odyseuss's granpa made it redundant and well, as a warrior, a favor of a war goddess is much more preferable.

One of the things I adore is the differences between Athena and Hermes.

Athena is a strict teacher and Odysseus was one of her first serious students that she invested in. She accepts nothing but the very best, expects wisdom no matter what, and doesn't allow for mistakes. That said, every intervention of hers was directly helpful and meant to help Odysseus along, often stepping in between gods when she did so.

But when she leaves, Odysseus isn't alone because cool grampa Hermes has Odysseus' back. He's not trying to teach, he's not trying to mentor, he's nothing but supportive and EVERY action he takes is to even out the odds Odysseus faces.

And the WEIRD thing is, in the musical I get the sense that Odysseus wanted the opposite to happen. He wanted Athena to be cool aunt friend, and he reacts perfectly to Hermes trickster-mentor tendencies.

The fluidity of Hermes’ movements really shows his character- laid back relaxed and super chill. He’s like that one fun uncle Yk? Athena’s movements on the other hand are more calculated and regal in a way. Lol just saw the differences and felt like commenting about it I could do a full fletched analysis but I’m too lazy
