Usually, I like to pretend I am teaching a class; it usually helps me understand and discover the connections in mathematics.

Finally someone agrees with me woahh 😂

My books are always full of notes, especially mathematics.
Well some of my friends laugh at me sometimes cuz many of them are kinda bad and halirous.
But believe me that stupid notes which makes me laugh in the middle of the exam are the secrets of my success ( not a real success but i always have the full marks in mathematics, chimestry, science and physics with them)

Hey Eddie - how do you feel about spaced repetition for practicing / remembering mathematics? I was introduced to it as a first year physics student and then used it all the way through my BSc and MSc. I now encourage the high school kids that I tutor to use it alongside just writing notes. It was an absolute life saver for me, and as long as you make it a regular practice it doesn't need to take up lots of time that could be used to learn new things / do homeworks etc.

So my problem with notes is that: while in class if i take "good notes" like actually good, i feel like the professor is moving too fast and by the time i have finished my notes for an exercise or a topic and look up at the prof/board, we have already moved on to the next thing or two things forward. In this situation when i go back home to study, its more difficult to understand the basics of the topic but easier to then understand the tricker parts. However if i don't take "good notes" when i come back home to study it's easier to understand the surface, the thin layer, the basics perfectly and when i dive to the deep, finding my self losing a lot of time to make home-notes and understanding the tricker parts! So my question is which is better take better notes in class or paying more attention in class and do note later? (i hope you understand and you can help, i appreciate your videos, you're great P.S.excuse my horrible english, i'm not a native!)

That "don't type it" apply for mathematics just because it's stupid to type them since it's slow as fuck but it definitely does not apply for other subjects, starting to type instead of handwriting my notes has been a total gamechanger

I never found notes useful. I would always just do the Practice questions - and use the textbook as a a summary I can flick through if I want to recall any specific knowledge. I feel textbooks do a pretty good job summarising the tools and definitions, and then the rest is a poetry of the same concept. In the UK, even during my A-levels (16-18) I just done tones of practice questions and got aprox 100% all year round in my mock tests.

Am I wrong or he just wrote an incorrect formula? Isn’t a = b^2+c^2-2bc*cos alpha
