It took me over a year to figure out what was causing my cat to pee outside the box. I spent over a thousand dollars with vet visits, exercise toys, litter brand changes, special diets, etc. We even got a second cat because the vet thought he could be having separation anxiety. It turned out that he is extremely picky about having a clean box. I scoop the box twice a day so its genuinely clean so I never thought that was the case. If I saw a singular piece of poo or pee throughout the day, I wouldn't scoop it because I thought it was clean enough. But no. My cat likes the box spotless. I finally figured it out on my own because I scrub the box and change the litter once a week and he pees the very second I put the new batch of litter in. Its annoying to have to check on the box 4x daily (because of having two cats) but it fixed it. I hope my example can help some struggling cat owners out there.

Jackson, I just wanna thank you so much for making these videos.
Thanks to one of your video’s, I figured out that my neutered cat of 10 years, had a UTI when he peed in my bed.
After he peed, I remembered this one video I saw on your channel some time ago, and started to observe him.
He kept going into the litter box constantly, but not much seemed to come out each time.

I live in a rural area, so I called the Vet, and he was put on antibiotics. He’s all good now, and hasn’t peed in the bed since.
I’m sure he was just trying to tell me he was sick.

I swear he knew we were helping him with the pills, he opened the mouth to take the pills by himself. I’ve never seen that before, and I’ve had my share of cats 🐈 through the last 40 years

We got our cats as teens so they were not small but not full grown. Both used litter box just fine, then one day one started go just outside the box. After watching this happen, I realized that kitty had actually gotten bigger and look uncomfortable using the small box we had. So we bought a bigger box and the problem was solved. He just outgrew the box.

A neighborhood mother cat just decided to stay with us and she pees inside the bathroom. No one taught her, did it on her own. I miss her, she was the best mother cat I've seen

We had a cat that had the weirdest poo problem I ever saw. He could not feel when he had to poo, till it started coming out, then he would freak out. Made for a lot of cleaning, but also a lot of laughter. One time he was perched on the toilet, about to jump into the window of the bathroom, and as he jumped, he pooped. Right into the toilet. It was perfect. Every time he pooped he had this "Something GOT me back there!" reaction. He'd leave trails as he dashed up stairs, down stairs, round in circles, trying to figure out what was going on. lol He ended up as a coop cat, mostly, he'd come inside when he wanted to, but it got a bit much trying to keep up with locating and cleaning all his poos indoors. On the good side, he and the chickens liked each other just fine.

My cat started to just miss the box. Then I remembered you mentioned pine litter can hurt cats' feetsies, which I had just switched to. I then kept an eye on her using the box, and noticed she seemed so hesitant to be walking on it. So I switched back to my old litter, and no problems since! Thanks!
