Thank You Sir, you just saved me $90 on a new lock and handle set !! About a week ago I purchased a Kwikset front door handle set, because my 17 year old set was very difficult to open the door. Your video was spot on!! My latch was the problem, so I went to Lowes bought a new one for just $8 bucks and that's it. No need to replace the entire set, returning it un opened back to Home Depot. Thank you for this video. My latch would not retract at all, so I had to cut it with a hacksaw blade. Fortunately, I have a lifetime warranty on Weiser locksets. But you saved me a lot of frustration. Thanks again!

My fairly new hardware with a "lifetime" warranty (weiser) started doing this after less than a year. Easy fix and thank you for the easy to follow guide. Let's see how long this one lasts.

When popping the plate off the inside of the door, start prying from the bottom first. That way if you do slip and ding the door, it won't be as noticable when you're standing at the door and looking down at the handle.
