I am so excited to hear the rest of this. Trying to optimize on my inventory queries led to me using your DAX from the Orange book back in 2017.

very detailed insights, thanks. I work for ~8 years on many stock reports with PBI/PPivot. Two notes: I use the pattern "all transactions from day one" to get a daily stock for any date. Works fine. In your data model it seems you calculate the amount with unit costs from the product table so they are fixed for all periods. I would say not very realistic. Thanks to our ERP System I get the daily amount and qty. And to calculate the price on any given date, I just need a division.

Couldnt grasp quite well the logic behind the calculate with iscrossfiltered in the inventory store and the remove filters from the inventory global
