It's almost like people should understand the older generations were that skinny because they were literally starving. And literally starving affects your growth, which makes you end up child-sized. A lot of American mothers who lived through the great depression of the 1930s shamed their daughters for not having their slim figure too, because their children were living such a better life than they did as a child. You're not fat if you don't fit in these clothes, you're getting proper nutrition.

I'm 176 and weigh 40.6kg. I have been very skinny since little. I was praised by everyone I met in China. Recently I moved to the US for uni and during a doctors visit I passed out from malnutrition. My health was not good before uni but thee all nighters I kept pulling pushed me over the edge. Now, I on a diet reccomended by a RD and eating much more. In the span of two years, I have gained 12 kg and eating healthily.

when i was 48 kgs i was dying. it was very hard on my body, especially my heart. I was so tired that I couldn’t stay awake. most Chinese women are probably shorter than me but they are still forced to be even smaller than my “dying” weight. being this skinny is not for everyone. please don’t let this horrible beauty standard kill you. it’s not worth it.
