I’m still looking for the passage that says regeneration precedes faith. That entire doctrine is built on a presupposition, not actually found in Scripture. Scripture tells us to believe first and then receive Christ. Pretty clear.

I was leaning towards Calvinism and what opened my eyes was listening to a sermon by Steve Lawson who was teaching that Grace precedes Faith without any scriptural support and that’s when I knew something was wrong. That’s what lead me here. Thanks for all you do Mr. Flowers.

This YouTube channel should be way more famous and have millions more subscribers. I’m astounded that it doesn’t.

Billy Graham never told people that their “decision” saved them. He tried to show them that we are all sinners and the Bible says to repent, which means turn from your sins. We have to decide to turn to Christ in faith then God is the one who accepts us on the basis of faith, just like God accepted Abraham because of faith.

Our decision is NOT what saves us, Gods GRACE is what saves us min 1:06

We didn’t “help” God save us, we simply accept the benefit of a complete package (of Salvation) being offered by God.

I don't know how someone can hear this excerpt from Voddie's sermon and not consider him a "high" Calvinist. He is not as aggressive as a James White but the philosophy is still there.

What did Paul say below?

Eph 1:12  That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Eph 1:13  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 1:14  Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Thank you, brother Leighton. Once again you bring much needed clarity to a very important issue.

Tim Hawkins once said, "The reason I can choose to go to Chic Fil A is because they first chose to build a restaurant in my town."

Repentance is turning AWAY FROM our sinful way of life. Faith is turning TO CHRIST for salvation. Both are decisions we make, Neither decision is made without the Holy Spirit's influence. Yet we can resist Him and harden our hearts against Him.

Oh my goodness, goodness, goodness. Brilliant. Thank you so much. Ive so struggled with this concept so much and you both have explained it in such a calm, clear and concise way. God bless you both from the bottom of my heart.

The son’s return didn’t demand forgiveness, but he had to return to receive the grace. If he had not returned, he would not have had the chance to receive grace. We can’t just keep living in sin and expect God to forgive us. We need to turn away from sin towards God and seek forgiveness and mercy and do not go back to the sin.

No scripture lists regeneration before faith. All scripture says belief precedes salvation.
