Tsuchiya didn’t just drift in pro races. He was one of the biggest founders of drifting as we know it today. While Kunimitsu Takahashi is credited as the inventor of drifting, Tsuchiya and His movie “The touge” often called Plupsy after the producer, was one of the first recorded show cases of drifting and took the world by storm. It’s the first time many people in Japan even heard of drifting and it brought drifting to the rest of the west as well. He has an incredible list of achievements as a pro driver and street racer under his belt too.
