Did you know that while it’s extremely challenging to detect exoplanets, the CARMENES program, a cooperative effort between the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA) and the Calar Alto Observatory in Spain, has confirmed the discovery of more than 5,000 exoplanets so far?

And if by any chance you think that there are no other exoplanets out there left to discover, you might want to think again!

That’s because while it has been more than 30 years since the discovery of the first exoplanets, the team at CARMENES has had some recent success, too.
According to a new study released by astronomers CARMENES has discovered an exoplanet only 31 light-years away from our Earth!

But are some of the key characteristics that make this exoplanet stand out from the rest?
If you are curious to find out, then watch this video till the end. Also, if you want to know the news on the James Webb Space Telescope NASA news and other space updates click the like and subscribe buttons as this helps us out a lot.
With that said, let’s jump right in!
Coming back to the point, the promising exoplanet was detected by astronomers at a Spanish observatory as part of a long-running project devoted to hunting for planets around 300 dwarf stars, according to a news release from the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy.

Detailing his excitement to this amazing discovery Dr. Diana Kossakowski, the lead astronomer involved in the finding, told McClatchy News in an email “It’s a huge accomplishment that we were even able to detect SUCH a low-amplitude signal in our data,” no doubt about that.
But what are some of the key characteristics of this exoplanet that have blown astronomers away? Here’s everything you need to know:

If a planet is tidally locked and does not rotate that it probably does not have a magnetic field therefore it probably does not hold life
